About Us

The Working Dog Club of Michigan is a GSDCA-WDA member club. Our members are committed to working and titling dogs in all three phases of Schutzhund. The WDA is our parent organization but we welcome other working breeds for training, seminars, and trials.

We currently train in Marshall, Michigan and are the only WDA Schutzhund club in the state. We train on private property which includes a trial-size Schutzhund field, a smaller ring, and indoor facilities for inclement weather (and a real bathroom ladies!). We also track together on private farmland which offers plenty of space and various types of cover.

Our current training director is training helper Ron Stokes. Ron has trained and titled several dogs from BH to SchH3. He currently competes with his Malinois, Nero, and is training his German Shepherd, Caisson, for Schutzhund competition.

Visitors are invited to observe training and/or have your dog evaluated. Please check the Visitors page for more information on visiting the club.

Our training field includes six permanent blinds, adjustable wall jump,
adjustable A-frame, dumbbell stand, back-tie post, and equipment trailer.
